Bucket List

Over at Confessions of an Apron Queen the Apron Queen is inviting apron lovers to join her in a tag of Kick the Bucket. Based on the movie “The Bucket List”. * (see below) The list is made up of things you would like to do before you kick the bucket.

*The Bucket List with Jack Nicholson & Morgan Freeman. If you haven’t seen it yourself, the general jist of the movie is that two men- one a rich billionaire (Nicholson) & one a blue collar mechanic (Freeman)- meet in the hospital as they both find out they have terminal cancer. They make a Bucket List- stuff they want to do before they kick the bucket. And then they proceed to do all the things on the list together and mark them off as they go along.

Their Bucket List:
Witness something truly majestic
Help a complete stranger for a common good
Laugh till I cry
Drive a Shelby mustang
Kiss the most beautiful girl in the world
Get a tattoo
Skydiving
See the pyramids
Get back in touch with…
Hunt the big cat
See Rome

So here is my bucket List:

  1. Have an updated home with a new kitchen (not the 70’s one I have now)
  2. See my children with loving partners who appreciate love and care for them as much as I do
  3. My Dh in full health, with no need for medication
  4. To be fit and healthy and happy with how I look (this will be a toughy)
  5. Live somewhere that’s not so crowded and with nature at my door step
  6. To learn to drive
  7. To make a difference, even if only in a small way, but in a good way

Late eve MRI

Had aa MRI on my foot last eve. 7:30 apt so didnt need time off work, which was good. Even found the right department/floor etc which made the ev got much more smoothly than when we last went to the Hospital…seemed to spend a life time trying to locate the right floor etc lol

Have a weeks wait now to find out results, which will go to the specialist who refered me..so not sure when I will find out whats exactly wrong with my foot.

The MRI was slightly different to the I’ve seen on House, or the ones DH had last year. I didn’t need to go in it, just my legs and feet. Which was a relief as not too sure I’d have liked the cramped conditions. The noise wasn’t too bad with the ear defenders on…I think the worst part was listening to Gemini FM through the ear defenders lol

Trash to Cash!

What a surprise to be told that my lil sister was to be on TV!
I vaguely recall being told she was going to be recording a programme for BBC1, but didn’t know much of the details or if it went ahead. Well it went ahead and the result is this Trash to Cash

Series in which people raise money by clearing out the clutter. Presenter Lorne Spicer is on hand with an army of experts to ensure nothing gets thrown away and everything of value is rescued, refurbished and resold. The team heads to Brighton to meet musicians Larry and Mertle Pickleman. Their trusty VW campervan, Buster, is in need of some TLC, and the Picklemans hope to fund the repairs by turning a houseful of unwanted clutter into cash.

And to think they actually had all that stuff in their home! I know Sis and her DH are hoarders and love a bargain, but I was rather shocked to see so much “stuff”

I must also add she seemed rather shy/nervous, not her usual out going self. Loved the red coat :)

Wonder if mum can get you some more 50’s-70’s outfits from the jumble? I know you cant resist looking at the jumble goodies lol

Monday Morning Fate & Karma

Today started off well, that was until the bus wouldn’t start!

Thankfully by chance..or maybe it was fate my DH was able to help out (well he is a bus mechanic by trade) So some time later we were on the road, and ready to collect the little darlings for school. most of whom were ready and waiting.

The funny thing is that DH would have normally been on his way to work by that time, but due to a blood test he was till at home waiting till his apt, and even more bizarrely he had the correct items needed to for the bus, the jump leads as he’d borrowed them over the weekend.

So looked like fate was on our side…..wonder how karma will re-pay his kindness?

Turning curtains into a blind

I had a fairly productive session on the sewing machine yesterday, not only have I taken in some newly bought trousers (I’m a pair shape and always need to take in the waist band) but also made a new blind for my craft room.

Photos show the before and after.

The blind is a success, as not only does it roll up nicely, but it also keeps out the light as I’ve lined it with some coordinating cream fabric. So overall a job well done.

The Friday cRafT Project

So often I want to make a start on a project but either I don’t have the time, the “umph” or the starting point. So I’ve been thinking about having a day set aside to create things and decided that Friday is the day.

Friday is ideal for me as this will then leave me the whole weekend to finish it off and if it’s not completed by then at least I will have made a start on it and usually once it’s started… it nag’s away in my mind till I get it done!!!

I wanted to invite YOU to join in with me and that way we can encourage each other to complete those un-started projects.

If you would like to make a start with me how about posting a link here so we can all see what your project is.

My first project is the craft room blind I’ve been meaning to change it, and with the help of a pair of 2nd hand curtains I think I can achieve it.

bubbly funk…what a fab collection of goodies

Have just received a lovely order of goodies from Bubblyfunk. I cashed in an old Post office account I had and treated myself to some chipboard goodies from Maya Road, Riff Raff, Buzz and Bloom, Collections Elements, Everlasting keepsakes, 2 Crafty and bubblyfunk’s own items.

I have a few things in mind for these goodies, just need time now to do them.

Don’t forget to check out http://hazelruthes.blogspot.com/ show me wednesday…your newest collection

MRI & Tuesday mutterings

Have got an appointment for my MRI, end of month and in the eve! Didn’t quite expect that, but it makes sense as no time of work will be needed then. haven’t had one before, so was wondering why they say Don’t wear mascara.

Popped in the Chinese herbal medical place in town. hope to get DH in there soon so they can asses him and hopefully offer him some acupuncture etc. He’s willing to try anything at the mo and I’ve heard good reports, not only from a friend but from my mum who has it every so often. Also collected DH’s new glasses as his 2nd pair we ready. (He really suits them) He’ll be glad he’s got his shaded pair, especially as the sun is shining so much lately.

Really must make something today, as only made a few cards lately and with not the best results (the heat made one cards glue come apart from the card stock, so had to re jig it much to my disappointment)

Think i’ll have a look at my newest purchases, 3 scrapbooks from the David and Charles book store all at much reduced prices :D

Table Cloth

Just finished a much needed table cloth for the dining room table. Acquired some fab vintage material from my mum a while ago, I put it in the sewing trunk in a hope to make something from it. Well today is the day, it’s only a basic cloth but it will do the job and add a splash of colour to the old 1930’s fold down table.

Over at http://hazelruthes.blogspot.com It was show me Wednesday and this time it was your sewing machine. so thought I’d add mine to the list. I love my machine.
